Thank you for your interest in Yukon independent dance.
For the second year in a row, the culmination of our season was a sold-out event.
We extend a huge thanks to all those who have supported our projects and goals.

We are now on hiatus, and welcome your questions, comments, ideas and input at any time. A greater degree of leadership involvement and managerial support is needed in order to continue.

SYIDA was founded in 2009 as a registered non-profit organization with a mandate to support and present the work of Yukon dance artists.

Our past activities have included:
- Artistic Membership criteria, application process and listing;
- Successful morning classes for local and visiting dance artists throughout two seasons from October - June;
- Creation Support for three new works, employing 11 Yukon artists;
- A regular e-newsletter with local dance event listings and the latest news on Yukon dance artists;
- Two successful Community Classes with guest artists;
- Hosting of two Yukon Guest Artists, from Vancouver (2009) and Montreal (2010);
- Two sold-out performance events presenting Yukon artists at the student, emerging and professional levels from Whitehorse, Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal.
- Exposure of Yukon dance artists and events to the National dance community, through our website, and postings with CADA (Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists) and The Dance Current--Canada's Dance Magazine.
